A seasoned brand strategist and corporate identity specialist, Stephen Barry leads the Asia Pacific operations of BrandingBusiness in Hong Kong. A fluent Cantonese speaker, Stephen has led numerous branding projects in the region. He has also witnessed first-hand the rise of China as a global economic power and the increasing sophistication of its deeply brand-conscious population.
Stephen’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for strategic design inspired him to launch a creative agency in 1994 after studying Graphical Communication at the University of Plymouth in the UK. He has since worked in a leadership role with clients, including BASF, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Maxim’s Group, Schneider Electric, Schroders, SGS, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the Swire group, and NGOs such as Oxfam and the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.
Stephen’s was named one of Greater China’s outstanding design professionals under the age of 40 by Perspective magazine in 2007. In 2012 his agency was voted one of Hong Kong’s leading brand consultancies by marketing professionals.
