David brings extensive business and brand strategy consulting experience to the EMEA team. A seasoned entrepreneur and astute strategist, he is a strong believer in the power of insight to inform both the business and creative strategy development.
David has a classic FMCG marketing background – graduate brand management trainee with United Biscuits, working on brands such as McVitie’s and Terry’s Chocolates. Increasingly interested in the strategic side of marketing, he embarked on a consultancy career path working for a number of prestigious firms such as now defunct advertising agency Allen, Brady & Marsh, Marketing Solutions and pFour Consultancy, where he went from Senior Consultant to Managing Director, merging the business with a JWT Division to form Everystone, and eventually becoming part of The Brand Union. He advised clients from across the range of consumer, B2B, financial services and government sectors, with prestigious clients such as Schroders, G4S, HSBC, MasterCard and American Express, to name but a few. Most recently David has conducted projects for VocaLink, Affinion International, Investec and Alliance Laundry Systems.
David has also held senior positions in the real world; in a recent break from consultancy he worked with a team of high-profile private investors to turn around and reposition a heritage luxury brand, including running it day-to-day, and successfully selling it on to new owners.
Whilst David’s day-job is at BrandingBusiness, he also has non-executive director roles at Britain’s largest independent regional newspaper group and at a media software company, and sits on the advisory board of The Work Ladder, an organisation designed to advise and equip those entering the world of business for the first time.
